Five posies in a row....

I can not believe how quickly this is going. I finished band/row 6.....
Of course I still have some beads/pearls to add, but it looks so nice.

The beads will be in the main flower .. where there is a stitch missing and at each light pink flower bud. I like the eyelets in this row.
I always wait until the piece is complete and pressed before adding the embellishments.
I still have to work on my exchange piece and put the last touches on my private exchange piece...just trying to make up my mind on a few things with that one so I can mail it this weekend...
Well, that is about all for now...another cup of tea, the morning paper and then off to work....so glad you stopped by. I enjoy your visits....have a great day.

Lions and tigers and.....? caterpillars ??

Oh this was a fun row...caterpillars....
I love the stitches beneath the caterpillars..it's Waterlillies Pistachio Nut....so pretty. Each caterpillar body part will have a bead ..wait till you see!
this is how it looks so far...only 4 bands/rows to go. Next will be a row of flowers and a few eyelets.....
I plan to do some stitching this morning...but first I need another cup of tea and will read the morning paper out on the lanai......
Whatever your plans are today, have a great day. Thank you for visiting and I appreciate your friendship.

Moving right along with Garden Party

Well, I not only finished the butterflies, but also the following band!
there will be 2 gold bee charms on either side of the center butterfly...

I wish the Darning row looked better...but I already stitched it over once...not again...I think it will be okay. There are beads that go on this band/row also.  The next row/band is the caterpillars!
Did you stop by my other blog and meet some of my stith friends? As always, I am happy to have you visit and thank you for your lovely words...have a great day.

An open butterfly

Finished the center open butterfly...wish you could see the antennae better...it's the mosaic stitch.
They are done in Ecru which makes them hard to see....but they look nice. Today I hope to finish the other butterfly to the side. Then this band/row will be finished. The next band/row is in the satin stitch. Should be a quick finish for that one.
If you stopped by my other blog, I told you about our monthly stitch group...that is where I will heading this morning....and if you have not visited my blog, do go and see the beautiful cactus picture....
As always I am so pleased to have you visit and chat...have a wonderful day....and thank you for leaving a message here or my email...always nice to hear from you.

Garden Party

I really am enjoying this project. I think I say that with all that I am doing! but it is true. As I have said, I love specialty stitches. Some years ago, I took a class of just specialty stitches and then a class for a band sampler...fell in love. Just look at my butterfly...
This is one of two side view butterflies. There will be a full view in the center....What? you think I made a mistake...moi? no no no...the last motif on band 2 is only a half one. I know it looks wrong...but that is how the pattern reads. Don't get me wrong I do can make a mistake...but this time no. Had I realized it was going to be this way, I would have made a break in the middle so each end would be even...but I am not going to re-do it now. I will have to live with it....I think! Of course, if you have an opinion...let me know..now, you know you do have an opinion...
Until tomorrow...have  wonderful day. It is always nice to have you stop by....

More stitches....

I love to work with specialty stitches...it always keeps me on my toes...never boring.
I am at the half way point with these Single Cross Eyelet stitches....perfect place to take a break. As much as I love special stitching, I do try to stop now and then so not to become tired of them. I am using DMC Pearl cotton #12 for them. Maybe my next update picture will be taken outside...then you will see the lovely pastel pink linen.
Well......that is about all for now...need to do a few things and then off to work in the real world. Thank you for stopping by...and for your kind words...have a wonderful day.

Finally some stitching!

Oh so good to be stitching again! I did stitch, but it was on pieces I can not yet show....
Anyway, I picked up Garden Party from day 6....
I have finished Row/Band1 ...and began Row/Band 2. The linen is a pale pink...and for some reason does not show as such here...anyway, I am enjoying this project because I like Band Samplers and the different stitches used.
I should tell you that there are beads to add but they will be stitched in once the entire piece is finished. Truth be told, there are 2 stitched bees at the top, but I thought I would do them later.
Thank you all for visiting and I can say that I will be back to daily posts now. This nasty cold seems to be almost gone. It is the first time in 4 or maybe 5 years that I have been sick! Tough getting old...someone sneezes and you catch it!
Have a wonderful day.....

Tulip stitching finished

I finished the scissor case back over the last couple of days....not much stitching due to not feeling well enough to see straight. But here it is...
I am not planning on completing it just yet...I want to be more clear headed for that. I also have to get the fabric for the lining. I will continue to work on my 2 exchange pieces and my gift piece to keep busy. This was #9 finish for the challenge so I do have time to do the other 6 before the end of the year.
Thank you for the concern and wonderful good wishes that I feel better..it does help to know that there are friends who visit. I hope to stop by and visit with you today....in the mean time, have a good day.

Almost finished stitiching....

Well, managed to get the front stitched...the back should not take long at all. I guess I could  should  tell you that I made mistake...or not.
It is not with the stitching...just the layout. I will however still be able to assemble the entire set...just a little more careful I will be. I may put this aside for a day or two...still working on my exchanges and gifts....and just because.
It is such a nice day the temps are so Spring....must sit outside for a bit today. Thank you for stopping to chat....have a nice day.

onto the scissor case...

Well, Fred stayed put and I finished stitching the fob...
I have started the outline for the scissor case. I am not sure how much I will do today on it as I still want to stitch on those special gifts. One of them, the outline is complete and I will start the outline for the next one. I have been putting them in between the challenge projects. At this point, I have onIy 5 more projects to do for the challenge and it is still March. I did mail out something to my sis...hopefully she will check the mail box. I am itching ...waiting so patiently for a long distance package that is suppose to arrive..... in the meantime, let's stitch. So glad you took the time to visit with me today. Hope your weekend is pleasurable....see you soon.

Fob problems

Oh I was already to post my accomplishment with the Tulip fob when something looked crooked...the leaf! So Fred came right to the task at hand and voila, no more leaf!
It's okay..it won't take long to stitch back. I can not believe how nice this project is to stitch.
This is the back side of the fob...remember when I started this I thought I would not like the initials/date to be in the same outline gray...well, I did not stitch them on the needle book ...yet... but do like the hint of them here. All in all, I think this is going to look very nice...once I get my leaf back in and the flower added.
It was nice to have you stop by, I hope you have a great day and weekend....see you soon.

Well, here it is
I have already finished the outline for the Fob, but it is boring so there is no pic for it...I hope to get time to stitch on it tonight. I am also stitching a couple of exchange pieces and a belated gift....I just need a few more free time hours.....
I am so pleased that you have chosen to follow along with me on this challenge. I will have more to show tomorrow.....so until then, have a wonderful day....

I really am enjoying this pattern..looking forward to the next part which won't be long ...
so pretty...........
This is the Needle book...Not sure what I will line it with....better start looking for fabric. The fob will be next. If you stopped by my other blog, you know that I received my Stitcher's Journey book....I am so looking forward to stitching from it...but, alas, I must continue with the challenge pieces...well, maybe I can squeeze something in...I do have a couple of exchanges to work on...and a gift...can someone lend me some of their unused time???? please...pretty please with sugar on it???
I really need to have some Cheerios and my coffee...so I will say ciao for now. Thanks for taking some time to visit with me....

Working on Day 4

Did  not get very much stitched done Tulips...
This is the Needlebook. It is a very pleasant project to stitch. After this I will stitch the fob then the scissor case. I also picked up another of the projects to take to the doctor's office, but did not get more than a few stitches put in...so no picture...
Well, that is it for now....so happy you stopped to chat....have a wonderful day.

Completed 2 finishes....

When I finish a project, it is just that, stitching finished. When it is completed, then I celebrate. My stitching break is officially over. I must stitch everyday! Yesterday, I managed to complete Milady....
I do not want to make it into a necklace, maybe a pin. For now a simple ribbon will do.

Then I worked on ....Sewing Bird Pinkeep...
The pattern called for an oil can to finish it, but I like the wooden ball. I tried to rust pins and bells...no luck...so for now I simply attached the strawberry. Maybe a rusted pin will appear.
I picked up Day 10 to work on...
I am using DMC not the silk as in the pattern and working 2 over 2...I really like the colors in this.
Very very windy outside today...I thought about sitting on the lanai to stitch, but threads will fly!  Looked out earlier to see a bird almost flying sideways!
Mr H is feeling better. i think the virus is out of his system.Thank you for stopping by and chatting with me. As always, thank you too for the kind words my friends.....have a great day.

Another finish....=8!

This was a nice surprise...I did not realize that I had very little to finishing the stitching on this....

I love the subtle colors...I can't wait to sew it into the heart shape. I have a different idea for that...not using the oil can as in the design....that is another picture for another day. Look at how sweet the bird is....

and this ...
Maybe this weekend I will have the time to sew it. I really like With Thy Needle & Thread designs...Thank you Brenda for beautiful patterns. I need to pick up some felt for a strawberry that hangs for the heart. My attempt to rust bells and pins did not, I repeat, did not work...so.....until I can master that, a regular pin will have to do.
Well, time for another cup and some cheerios....work today....did you see my newest frogs at my other blog...they are colorful, that's for sure! So glad you stopped by, thank you and hope your day is wonderful.

Sewing Girl is finished

The stitching is finished....

Excuse the wrinkles...I have to get out the iron and fusible web for the back. I can't wait to find fabric to complete this into a pillow. I still have to "clean" up the loose back threads and remove the lint from the front, but she is finished for now. I probably will make it up as a 12 inch pillow. Would I stitch this one again...I don't think so...a pain getting the counting right at times...am I glad I did it..yes.
This makes # 7 finish for the challenge....I picked out Day 4 to work on next....
I am so pleased that you have been following my progress....and yes, this blog is where the challenge pieces are posted, but all chat and other stitching is at my other blog ...I do hope you get to visit there as well to see what else I am doing. Glad you took the time to visit with me.
