Fern came through!

Friends are such great supporters. When I asked Fern if she thought she would have the DMC shade I needed, she never hesitated to look. (This is Fern). So,thanks to my dear friend I am happily stitching back on La D DA.

Please excuse the wrinkles...I have been using a hoop instead of the Q Snaps (and too lazy to iron it each time to show you)....
Well, I want to get a few stitches in before my brother Alan and Mr H wake up.....we are going to Jerome today...something we think Alan will enjoy. Yesterday was Margaritaville...yes, for margaritas...and then dinner. I posted a picture of Alan over at my other blog.....

Dealing with it!

I am still unhappy with this floss difference.....but yesterday at my stitch group, I asked a fellow stitcher, Ann to have a look. She is an excellent stitcher and I wanted to see what she thought. Her opinion is to continue stitching with blended strands. So I will...Here is what I have added so far...

It really does look okay....but...I am too much of a perfectionist sometimes...OK, all the time. I think it is time to sit out on the lanai before the heat arrives. It has been 90 or so the past week. Thank you so much for visiting...have a great day.

This part of the pattern seems to look as though nothing was added...but I really did stitch!

The pattern just keeps repeating itself. I hope to have the stitching completed this weekend...then find some small print fabric for the lining.
Next week my brother Alan will be here for a few days...I am sure there will still be some stitching time. So happy that you stopped by today...have a wonderful day...

Finally....a post

Well, I have not been idle...just without the computer...I did stitch and stitch and look how far I am...

The top is finished....

and the bottom is coming along. Actually, it is front and back of the piece. I have been enjoying the pattern. Excuse the wrinkles...I am using a hoop this time instead of Q Snaps...I hope to have this finished soon. I may take a break to stitch something other than a challenge piece. To date, I have finished 10 pieces with 4 of them as completed. So, I think a break is okay....

Garden Party is finished..

What a nice feeling when the last stitch or in this case bead is added!

I know it is not very artistically set... I just wanted to get them on the page!  What do you think?

 I will check with my favorite framer Don; I am not thinking of anything fancy.

Today, I put the final stitch in on Garden Party!

I love it! The last row was a fun row ...

Now all that is left is to add all the beads...a part that I do enjoy...embellishing. Then it will be time to frame...I may do it myself...or not.
I now have to decide which to stitch on next. Maybe La D Da...
Well, the beads won't attach themselves...I need a cup of tea...Mr H is up and Zoe has been out....busy morning...I think I need a rest! Thank you for stopping by to say hello...your comments and emails are wonderful. Have a wonderful day.

Finally some news...

I have so missed stitching. If you were at my other blog you then know I have had a migraine...but, this morning I did stitch some....

I now have 2 of 4 finished motifs. As you can see, they connect. The 2 in the center will have a complete wreath around them and the outside motifs will be half but joined.Once I finish this band it will get a good pressing and then....then the beads will be added. I love when I get to add beads....just wait till you see.
We are having a rain day today..always welcome here in Arizona. It actually started last night. Also, it is a bit cooler than it was during the week, again, always welcome. Once the summer hits and we have a few days of 100...there is no cool until ...maybe, October. I am off to work today..hopefully I will be able to stay...headache begone! I think a cup of tea with toast ..if I keep it down, it will be a good sign.

First of four...the last band...

I am on the last band of Garden Party....

This is one of four motifs....the first and the last share an inside edge so they are all connected. There are beads in this band also. One of these days, I will capture the real shade of pink of the linen! Anyway, this is a busy band...so I will work on it later, I need a break in between....lots of changing threads.
We are having a cloudy day here in the Valley of the Sun...but it is fine. The garden can use a break from the hot sun. I will make my tea later and return to stitching...how about you? Well, Zoe is just up and out she needs to go.....have a great day. Oh and by the way, I am glad you stopped by.....

the bees are ready for honey.....

I am so pleased with the row/band of bees. I was not liking them much at first, but now that all 4 are finished, they are okay. And...to  have finished the next row/band also....well....I say!

The bees were a little time consuming, but I think they are very nice even if they aren't yellow! Each motif will have a few beads. Look at the following row...

The stitch is called Rice Stitch and although it does not show very well, the colors are so soft and pretty. See how the bees hold onto each other?

Well, if you just hopped over from my other blog you will know that I have been up since 2 am...anyway...I stitched...

This is band/row 7...bees...I know they are not yellow...but I am following the pattern. there will be 4 all in the row.

The design at the back of the bee will be filled in with beads ...there will be another bee facing toward the center and another bead motif, then 2 more bees facing toward these and a last bead motif.....but I am too too tired to stitch anymore now......thanks for chatting with me...I am off to the daybed.....oh, have a nice day.
